Emotions in Speech

Emotion encoding across languages

How do people communicate emotions through their voice, and how do listeners interpret them? My research examines the acoustic cues that convey emotion in speech and investigates whether these cues are shared across languages or shaped by linguistic experience. Using speech data from different languages, I explore how emotion is encoded, perceived, and influenced by modality and language background.
