Emotion Recognition | Fenqi Wang

Humans can effortlessly recognize emotions in speech, yet machines still struggle with this task. This project investigates how machine/deep learning models compare with human listeners in identifying emotional expressions. By combining human perceptual ratings with acoustic feature extraction and classification models, I examine where human and machine judgments align and where they differ.
